Do You Believe In Astrology

Whenever people talk about astrology the question of "a belief" arises. It's as if the human mindset instinctively associates astrology with "a belief."

Whenever people ask me if I believe in astrology, I respond to the question with another question: "What is a belief?" and I give them my answer right away.

A belief is everything you have not touched, not seen, not heard, not smelled, everything you have not lived and not experienced, everything that has not become part of your own life and existence and that has not become part of your own reality.

It's everything beyond your imagination, coming from another dimension you have not experienced yet, you are not aware of (yet) but that, nevertheless, exists somewhere for the ones who have experienced, researched or lived it.

In the world of the elephant, goldfish don't exist, even if they do exist in our own (human) reality. They are just part of another reality that we, human beings are able to live and experience. But not the elephants.

It's so difficult for so many people to live in reality, to be aware of other dimensions. Instead of judging and questioning who's right or wrong, they would better try to know more about it, the pros and the cons, the way it works or does not work and when it works or does not.

THAT would bring awareness to another dimension and bring far more insight. It would raise human consciousness; something our world needs so deeply.

Some medical doctors "believe" in natural healing, others only "believe" in high-tec solutions and others only "believe" in drugs. It depends on their mindset, experience and own reality.

Some astrologers only believe in the "ancient" deterministic schools, some others rely on psychological feelings and free will and yet others are more into the influence of the Asteroids. It all depends on their mindset and experience.

Saying that astrology is a "belief" is judging astrology without having experienced or researched it. It's up to you to raise your consciousness and awareness by doing your own research -- with respect to all topics and events in life. And if you want to research astrology, be sure to research and judge "astrology" and not the astrologer!

Astrology India

Indian Astrology has a history of more than five thousand years. Indians believe strongly that the stars govern their destiny and have immense faith in astrology. Astrology in India plays a very important role in deciding matrimonial alliances and determining the right time for starting new ventures. Predictions help you overcome misfortunes and provide a solution to overcome the ill influence of the celestial bodies. It is the guiding force at various stages in a person's life. Astrology simply shows the way in times of difficulty. It is merely a roadmap, and the individual has to make the effort himself to improve his life. Indian astrology is nothing but the planetary chart of an individual. It is accurate and helps overcome bad tidings and misfortunes during the person's life. There are three main branches of Indian astrology, namely Siddanta, Samhita, and Hora. The study of planets and stars comes under Siddanta. Natural calamities, weather predictions, and rainfall come under Samhita. Another branch, the Phalitha Jyothisha deals with the art and science of predictions. The Nadi system traces a person's life history and future as written on palm leaves. This system is highly accurate but it requires proper reading by a skilful astrologer.

Components of Indian Astrology Indian Astrology comprises twenty-seven constellations in twelve lunar houses. The Moon plays an important role in an individual's life. The Sun, Moon and five main planets, namely Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Mercury along with Rahu and Ketu, the nodal points of the Moon are the pillars of Indian Astrology. The position of the Moon at the time of his birth or in a specific star helps to make the person's astrological chart. This decides the astrological star of the person and is important to determine the important major and minor sub-periods in his life. Vedic Astrology Vedic Astrology or Jyotish is as old as about 1500 BC, long before modern day, astronomers as Kepler and Newton made their appearance. The principles of Vedic astronomy propounded that the planets revolved around the sun, long before Western astronomers. This and several other principles were far ahead of their time and still hold today. Vedic astrology has its basis in astronomy and determines the time of religious ceremonies and functions. There are instances of Vedic Astrology cited in the ancient Hindu scriptures, the Rig Veda, and the mythological stories of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Jyotish literally means remover of darkness and knowledge of the divine. It takes a holistic view of life incorporating the present, the past, and the future. It is a search for the ultimate knowledge and seeks to understand divine truths.

This form of astrology takes in to consideration the effect of electro-magnetic celestial influences on an individual's mental and psychological being. The underlying principle is that an individual's destiny depends on his actions and it is his job to do his karma, irrespective of the outcome of his actions. Jyotish or Vedic astrology is therefore a study of the symbiotic relationships between living and celestial bodies in the universe.

Birthstones Birthstones form an integral part of Indian astrology. There are specific birthstones for people born in a specific month of the year. Some of the birthstones are amethyst, garnet, cat's eye, aquamarine, lapis, moonstone, pearl, red coral gomedh, sapphire and ruby. Wearing the right birthstone helps improve your life, finances, relationships and career. It brings mental peace and stability in thought and actions. Birthstones help to increase the positive effect of certain planets and to minimize the negative influences of other planets as per your birth chart. The proper birthstones emanate positive energy and form a protective aura around the wearer. However, you must consult an astrologer and wear the appropriate birthstone only as a wrong birthstone can have a negative impact on your life. Indian astrology is therefore like a guide map to life. The planetary positions indicate our destiny, but ultimately we have to perform the requisite actions to get the desired results. Moreover, faith is important to ensure that the astrological predictions work for you.

Sidereal Astrology

The Sidereal or Eastern system of astrology is based on the position of the belt of fixed stars and constellations in the heavens, whereas the Tropical zodiac or the Western astrological system is based upon the position of the Sun in relation to the Earth.? Sidereal astrology is the system of astrology used by some western astrologers which bases their interpretation around the use of the sidereal zodiac. It was introduced to the West by the Irish astrologer Cyril Fagan in 1944 and is practiced by a minority of Western astrologers.? Sidereal astrology ties its signs of the zodiac to the actual constellations and is more complex, yet more mathematically oriented than Western astrology. Originally, the first degree of the zodiac was common to both systems.? Due to the peculiarities in the Earth's orbit, however, the belt of stars and constellations appears to shift in relation to the Tropical zodiac. As a result, the two zodiacs are drifting apart. This is called the procession of the equinoxes, and today the difference between the two systems is calculated at about 23 degrees. Thus, if a person is born on January 1, he will have the Sun in Capricorn according to the Western system, but according to the Sidereal system the Sun will be at approximately 16 degrees Sagittarius. By practical experience the use of the Sidereal method is preferable. It is mathematically more correct, and it also penetrates into the subtle elements of nature, such as mind, intellect, and spirit to present a more complete picture of our soul's sojourn in the realm of time and space. The Sidereal astrological system notes the strengths and weaknesses that a person will experience in life, and also recommends remedial measures for improving our future. The karma or destiny which we are born with has been destined by activities in previous births. The spiritual astrology of India suggests that karma?is not eternal and can be changed.

Chinese Astrology Forecast for Global Issues in 2007

2007 is a year with countless gossips and arguments. There are dispute everywhere, on every level. The people have their own fights and the nature has its own conflicts.

The trigram that represents the world's luck in 2007 is 'Xian'. The Xian trigram represents the communion between the two genders and the connection between the heaven and earth. On the up side, it means understanding. On the down side, it may turn into arguments related to romantic affairs.

The trigram has the change on its fourth stroke, meaning the imbalance of Yin and Yang energy. That's why the world is filled with arguments and gossips. The fourth stroke is also where human stands according to legends. That explains why most important fights and disputes happen between human beings not nations.

Communication could make people feel good if it's not forced upon those concerned. Imposed mandatory communication is horrifying and repulsive. The arguments among human tend to happen behind closed doors. For instance, the U.S., China and even a small piece of land like Macau would have to deal with their internal conflicts. Their people would keep arguing on and on.

The Xian trigram just gives a general impression of the state of matters, without revealing the details. Yet, more details are disclosed by its subsidiary trigram 'Xiao Guo', the fifth stroke of which says, 'Overcast without rain; clouds from the Western outskirt; crisis of the new sovereign just like an animal caught in its cave.' From a pessimistic point of view, the text can be interpreted as a major incident is in the making. No matter how hard someone tries to hide, he/she would still be discovered by those strong and powerful. This is especially for those countries which seal themselves completely from the rest of the world; and those which haven't been recognized internationally.

Those internationally wanted by the police, because of criminal offences, political issues and terrorism, would be arrested in 2007. Certain countries or regions would also be threatened by external forces.

On the other hand, certain objects or people that have long been forgotten; and those items with profound historical significance would be prioritized once again this year.

In terms of global economy, those less affluent countries would see more resources and national growth in 2007.

Finally, accidents are likely to occur to structures or geographic formations situated on great height, such as satellites, mountains, houses or bridges.

What is Chinese astrology? Chinese Astrology is one of the most ancient philosophies still in existence today. The Chinese Astrology uses the Chinese calendar, which was invented in the 27-22 century B.C. by Emperor Yellow or known as Yellow Lord (Huangdi).

In ancient China and up till today, Astrology has been used to predict what happens to countries, the outcome of wars; weather of the year; economic trends, fortune of people and much more.

One complete cycle of the zodiac takes 60 years, which composes the arrangement of a heavenly stem and an earthly branch. The year 2000 marks the 17th year in the 78th cycle.

The animals signs are commonly known because of the legend of the Jade emperor summon the 12 animals (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig ) for a race. However, the configurations of the heavenly stems and earthly branches are much more important for astrology.
